'The Mairches'

Esther Swift is a singer-songwriter and harpist. Her new EP 'The Mairches' features cojon, string quartet and trumpet and the songs are based on her life growing up in The Scottish Borders. Whilst being heavily influenced by her folk roots, her music also uses a lot of jazz, blues and minimalist references, and she has been compared to artists who include Kate Bush, Eddie Reader and Joanna Newsom.
